The solubility of terbium tris(acetylacetonate) Tb(Acac){sub 3}{center_dot}3H{sub 2}O in organic solvents, namely, in ethyl, isobutyl, butyl, isopropyl, and isoamyl alcohols, is studied. A comparison of the thermal analysis and IR spectroscopy data suggests that dissolution of Tb(Acac){sub 3}{center_dot}3H{sub 2}O in ethyl and isopropyl alcohols is accompanied by the formation of molecular solutions of the complex without noticeable adduct formation. The products isolated from saturated solutions by isothermal evaporation at 298K can be regarded as identical to the initial sample of terbium tris(acetylacetonate).
