Manufacturing experts at Argonne have developed a more efficient way of making resin wafers used to electrochemically purify water. This technology uses automated controls and a semi-continuous process to produce a new wafer every 5 minutes, at least 10 times faster than the production techniques used today. This efficient technology can make it easier for industry to cost-effectively adopt and implement processes for energy efficient water treatment.
