Title: Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy Annual Report for FY 2017

The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) funds technologies that could change the way we get, store, and use energy. ARPA-E’s mission is to advance energy innovations that will create a more secure, affordable, and sustainable American energy future. ARPA-E creates options for new paths that accelerate the pace of innovation. These developments help the United States: Reduce imports of energy from foreign sources; Reduce energy-related emissions; Improve energy efficiency across all sectors of the economy; and Ensure it maintains a technological lead in developing and deploying advanced energy technologies. ARPA-E provides America’s energy researchers with funding, technical assistance, and commercialization guidance. This report presents a summary of the activities of ARPA-E during Fiscal Year 2017 (FY 2017).
