A three-sensor interferometry method is employed to parameterize the brightness distribution of VHF radar returns from midlatitude E region plasma irregularities monitored by the Chung-Li radar in Taiwan. The interferometric technique used to estimate the low-order moments of the brightness distribution of pulsed radar returns are presented. Normalized cross-spectra estimates have been derived. Presented observations were from August 23, 1993. The significance of the presented self spectra and cross spectra is discussed. The formation and dynamics of the plasma irregularity patches may be the result of kilometers scale fluctuations in electron density and electric fields caused by fluctuating neutral winds. 16 refs., 10 figs.
