The existence of skin/core structure in thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP) is well known. A thorough understanding of the skin/core structure is important because the bulk properties of the material depend on the relative thickness of the individual layers. This work aims to evaluate the mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of the layers for a TLCP and its glass fiber reinforced composite.
