Copper cation-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolite are active catalysts for the decomposition of nitric oxide in oxygen-containing flue gases. At constant oxygen level the activity of this catalyst drops with decreasing NO concentration. Modified Cu/ZSM-5 catalyst with promoter ions show improve NO decomposition activity over the temperature range of 450-600{degrees}C. This makes it a potential candidate for gas turbine-NO{sub x} control of matching exhaust-gas temperature. Effects of zeolite modification with various promoters, copper exchange level and catalyst preparation conditions on the catalyst activity as well as effects of oxygen and water vapor are reported in this presentation.
