Much attention has recently been paid to poly(aminoborazinyls) because they are readily pyrolyzed to form hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) ceramics whose processing should usually be done by a high energy process like hot pressing. As a series of the authors` investigation on there useful preceramic polymers, it has been demonstrated that a poly(aminoborazinyl) prepared by co-condensation of B,B,B-triaminio-borazine (TAB) can be converted to h-BN without producing carbon contaminant in the pyrolysate. In the extension of these studies the authors report on the preparation of poly(aminoboranzinyl) by solution condensation of MAB and its utilization for fabricating BN composites to demonstrate the potential use of the MAB condensate as a ceramic binder and a matrix material of fiber-ceramic matrix composite (FCC).
