Power boosted solar cookers

The author describes the need for projects to improve solar cookers: development of a simple 2 to 4X solar concentrator; reduction of the box in box cookers to pot size; and development of absorbers to heat food directly. Two kinds of non-imaging solar concentrators are described that fit in well with a 2 to 4X power boost; i.e., 3-D sun funnels and 2-D troughs. The author presents ways to improve old box cookers as well as the technology needed to build new ones.
