Waste acceptance for vitrified high-level waste forms

A waste acceptance preliminary specification has been developed for vitrified high-level waste forms that is consistent with the requirements of the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project Office. This document defines the characteristics of the glass and the canistered waste form that will be produced by the vitrification plants. The objectives of the acceptance requirements and the long-term R and D effort will be discussed.
