This paper discusses systematic studies carried out of the physical, mechanical, and geochemical properties of some candidate cementitious materials for sealing a geologic nuclear waste repository in a tuff host rock environment. Focus is on a particular sanded cementitious grout. Possible applications for such materials are addressed.
