A search for the lightest scalar top quark, a superpartner of the top quark, has been performed with the signature, $$\tilde{t}$$1$$\tilde{t}$$1 + X → (τ+b)(τ-$$\bar{b}$$) + X → ℓ τhb$$\bar{b}$$ + X, where ℓ is an electron or a muon, and τh is a hadronically decaying tau lepton.
