Subgroup of evaluation standards

The Subgroup on Evaluation Standards is the focal point for structural integrity evaluations which are performed under the rules of Section 11. Three major areas are covered: (1) component flaw evaluation; (2) operating plant criteria; and (3) pipe flaw evaluation. For each of these areas, the historical background and past developments of criteria will be covered, as well as the work now underway to provide integrity assessments for areas not presently covered. The integrity assessment of structures is used in conjunction with many other aspects of Section 11, including, for example, the development of risk-based inspection guidelines. A number of examples of these areas will be discussed.
