The fatigue effects of continuous fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites were studied. The SiC/SiC-specimens were tested in tension-tension with a testing frequency of 100Hz. Induced by cyclic loading internal damage as matrix cracking, fiber matrix interface debonding and friction resulted in specimen heating and an S-shaped hysteresis curve. A model is presented to calculate the S-curve.
