The interfacial properties in single filament microcomposites consisting of a CVD SiC fiber (143 {mu}m of diameter), a thin carbon interfacial coating, and a thick (120-160 {mu}m) CVD SiC sheath were studied for temperatures up to 1200{degrees}C. The mechanical behavior of these microcomposites was studied using monotonic and cycled load experiments where load-displacement and acoustic emission data were recorded. Optical and electron microscopy were performed to analyze the microstructural changes associated with the tests.
