BeHf is delta Molybdenum Boride-like structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Be is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to two equivalent Be and seven equivalent Hf atoms. Both Be–Be bond lengths are 2.24 Å. There are a spread of Be–Hf bond distances ranging from 2.66–2.89 Å. Hf is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Be atoms.
