New modified polyorganosilanes with functional groups (Si-H and C{triple_bond}C) in polymer chain have been prepared by Wurtz reaction by 1, 4-bis(chloromethylsilyl) benzene and bis(chlorodimethylsilyl)acetylene interaction with sodium. These modified polyorganosilanes undergo controlled cross-linking under UV-irradiation, which results in their molecular weight increase up to desired value for SiC fibers production. The preparation of SiC fibers with improved thermal stability without surface oxidation is possible.
