The processing and the sintering of an alumina multilayer structure constituted of a stacking of dense and porous layers is presented. Influence of the processing parameters on the cracking of the porous layers are analyzed and discussed. The flexural behavior of this material is described. Numerical simulations show that the Young`s modulus of the porous layer and therefore its density control the fissuration path.
