Crystal structure of the complex neptunium(V)molybdate
- Institute of Physical Chemistry (Russian Federation); and others
Crystal structure of Cs{sub 2}(NpO{sub 2}){sub 2}Mo{sub 2}O{sub 8} (I) (CAD4 autodiffractometer, {lambda}MoK{sub a}, graphite monochromator) has been determined. Crystal data: a = 7.302(5), b = 8.837(4), c = 10.868(8) {angstrom}, {beta} = 104.68(6){degrees}, V = 678.5 {angstrom}{sup 3}; space group P2{sub 1}/c, Z = 4, d{sub calc} = 5.50 g cm{sup {minus}3}, {mu}(MoK{sub a}) = 207 cm{sup {minus}1}; R = 0.049, R{sub w} = 0.059 [from 671 reflections with sin {theta}/{lambda} > 0.15 {angstrom}{sup {minus}1} and I > 4{sigma}(I)]. The crystal of compound I is built up from [(NpO{sub 2}){sub 2}(Mo{sub 2}O{sub 8})]{sup 2n{minus}}{sub n} anionic layers with Cs{sup +} cations between them. Compound I is isostructural to artificial analogs of carnotite K{sub 2}(UO{sub 2}){sub 2}V{sub 2}O{sub 3} and Cs{sub 2}(UO{sub 2}){sub 2}V{sub 2}O{sub 8}. The structures of Mo{sub 2}O{sup r{minus}}{sub 8} anions have been compared.
