This presentation examines the issues surrounding the proposed Department of Transportation/Nuclear Regulatory Commission transport regulation revisions and the 1996 IAEA Safety Series No.6. The major proposed revisions concerning LSA/SCO requirements are outlined and new definitions are provided. Industrial package categories and integrity requirements are discussed. Finally, proposed provisions for control of occupationally exposed transport workers are given as well as proposed radiation protection limits for the general public.
