Li3Ag is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Li is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent Ag atoms. There are two shorter (2.87 Å) and two longer (2.91 Å) Li–Ag bond lengths. Ag is bonded to twelve equivalent Li atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing AgLi12 cuboctahedra.
