Pr2IrNi is Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pr is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Ir and four equivalent Ni atoms. All Pr–Ir bond lengths are 3.08 Å. All Pr–Ni bond lengths are 3.08 Å. Ir is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Pr atoms. Ni is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Pr atoms.
