Materials Data on SnH12Pt(N2Cl3)2 by Materials Project
Pt(NH3)4SnCl6 is Halite, Rock Salt structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmce space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of four Pt(NH3)4 clusters and four SnCl6 clusters. In each Pt(NH3)4 cluster, Pt2+ is bonded in a square co-planar geometry to four equivalent N3- atoms. All Pt–N bond lengths are 2.07 Å. N3- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to one Pt2+ and three H1+ atoms. All N–H bond lengths are 1.03 Å. There are three inequivalent H1+ sites. In the first H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one N3- atom. In the second H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one N3- atom. In the third H1+ site, H1+ is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one N3- atom. In each SnCl6 cluster, Sn4+ is bonded in an octahedral geometry to six Cl1- atoms. There are two shorter (2.45 Å) and four longer (2.49 Å) Sn–Cl bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Cl1- sites. In the first Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Sn4+ atom. In the second Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Sn4+ atom.
