Title: Materials Data on CBr4 by Materials Project

Dataset ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.17188/1283630· OSTI ID:1283630

CBr4 is Iron carbide-like structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2/c space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of thirty-two carbon tetrabromide molecules. C4+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four Br1- atoms. There is two shorter (1.95 Å) and two longer (1.97 Å) C–Br bond length. There are four inequivalent Br1- sites. In the first Br1- site, Br1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one C4+ atom. In the second Br1- site, Br1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one C4+ atom. In the third Br1- site, Br1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one C4+ atom. In the fourth Br1- site, Br1- is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one C4+ atom.
