Main injector to Tevatron beamline design

Journal Article · · Bulletin of the American Physical Society
OSTI ID:127817

The proposed Fermilab Main Injector will be used as an injector of protons and antiprotons for the existing Tevatron. The Main Injector extraction straight section, used for 150 Gev/c proton transport to the Tevatron, will also be used as a slow extraction channel for 120 Gev/c test beams, a transport channel of 120 Gev/c beams for antiproton production, and an injection channel for 8 Gev/c antiprotons. This multiple functionality presents constraints on the matching between the two accelerators. A beamline solution will be presented and the matching constraints will be discussed.
