Title: Materials Data on GdMgAu by Materials Project

Dataset ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.17188/1276757· OSTI ID:1276757

GdAuMg crystallizes in the hexagonal P-62m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded to four Au atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing MgAu4 tetrahedra. There are two shorter (2.81 Å) and two longer (2.95 Å) Mg–Au bond lengths. Gd is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five Au atoms. There are four shorter (3.11 Å) and one longer (3.16 Å) Gd–Au bond lengths. There are two inequivalent Au sites. In the first Au site, Au is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Mg and three equivalent Gd atoms. In the second Au site, Au is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Mg and six equivalent Gd atoms.
