The Materials Project

GaSe crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of four GaSe sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Ga2+ is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Se2- atoms. All Ga–Se bond lengths are 2.59 Å. Se2- is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Ga2+ atoms.
