Materials Data on Ba by Materials Project
Ba is Magnesium structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba is bonded to twelve equivalent Ba atoms to form a mixture of edge, face, and corner-sharing BaBa12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (4.48 Å) and six longer (4.49 Å) Ba–Ba bond lengths.
