Accurate prediction of physical properties of alkanes is still very important for science and technology. In the past, melting temperatures of n-alkanes have been extrapolated to predict melting point of polethylene. Design of many chemical processes depend strongly on accurate prediction of melting point of n-alkanes. In this paper, an expression for melting temperatures of n-alkanes has been developed based on the two dimensional dislocation on theory of melting.
