Most standards devoted to expansion bellows are now based on the EJMA standards. This is the case for CODAP, STOOMWEZEN, ASME-VIII--DIV. 1 and ASME-B31.3, which have adopted EJMA, generally with some modifications. This paper provides an overview of EJMA design procedure and outlines the main design features in the above mentioned codes by comparison to EJMA. Fatigue life evaluation is emphasized since this is an important aspect of bellows design. The intent of this compilation is to draw up basic proposals for the drafting of a chapter ``Expansion Bellows`` for the design part of the European Pressure Vessel Standard (E.P.V.S.) which is in the course of development in the European Union.
