  1. Mobil Exploration and Producing US, Inc., Midland, TX (United States)
Mobil began CO{sub 2} injection into the Salt Creek Field Unit in October, 1993. The CO{sub 2} processing plant was started up in stages, beginning in December, 1993, with all processing units in operation by June, 1994. The CO{sub 2} separation plant is designed to process 75 MMscfd inlet gas initially, with the capability of expanding to 110 MMscfd. The plant consists of inlet compression, a refrigeration system, membranes for bulk CO{sub 2} removal, an amine system, reinjection compressors, and a CO{sub 2} pumping station. A Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS system controls the plant. After CO{sub 2} and H{sub 2}S removal, the sweet hydrocarbon product is processed at the existing NGL refrigeration facility. This paper presents a process overview for the CO{sub 2} project facilities, and reviews some of the start-up planing and experiences that were encountered.
