Title: TWOQUICK Version 2.0

Software ·
OSTI ID:1230547

TWOQUICK is a two-dimensional, fully relativistic, fully electromagnetic, particle-in-cell plasma simulation code. It is used to simulate plasmas and high-current and high-voltage plasma devices such as ion and electron diodes, high-power microwave generating devices, and magnetically insulated transmission lines in Pulsed Power accelerators. It can also be used to simulate systems without charged particles. The simulation volume consists of a rectilinear grid and may be in Cartesian, cylindrical (z-r or r-phi), or spherical (r-theta) coordinates. The electric and magnetic fields are solved using explicit or time-biased finite difference representation of Maxwell's equations. Charged particle motion via the Lorentz force is determined self-consistently using the Particle-In-Cell (PIC) method. TWOQUICK runs on UNIX, Linus, and Nt workstations. The code is written in Fortran 77 and ANSI C and consists of about 40,000 lines of code.
