Materials Data on LaIn3 by Materials Project
LaIn3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La is bonded to twelve equivalent In atoms to form LaIn12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent LaIn12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent InLa4In8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent LaIn12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent InLa4In8 cuboctahedra. All La–In bond lengths are 3.39 Å. In is bonded to four equivalent La and eight equivalent In atoms to form distorted InLa4In8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent InLa4In8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent LaIn12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent InLa4In8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent LaIn12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent InLa4In8 cuboctahedra. All In–In bond lengths are 3.39 Å.
