Title: Materials Data on SiO2 by Materials Project

Abstract

SiO2 is quartz (beta) structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_422 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Si4+ is bonded to four equivalent O2- atoms to form corner-sharing SiO4 tetrahedra. All Si–O bond lengths are 1.62 Å. O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Si4+ atoms.
