Calgary GoPlan: GoPlan citizen`s InfoPAC poll results. Background series No. 28-01-95
In 1992, the City of Calgary initiated the GoPlan project, a five-phase review process over three years, to develop a long-range transportation plan for the City. Three phases of the plan have been completed and the fourth is now underway. As part of this phase, a Citizen`s InfoPAC & Opinion Poll was delivered to all Calgary households in November 1994. The InfoPAC informed residents of issues to be faced in planning for future transportation needs and provided them with the opportunity to comment on the options being considered. The same survey was also administered via telephone to a panel comprised of randomly selected Calgary households. This report discusses the results of the mail survey and the telephone survey, giving respondent profiles and addressing issues such as mobility and costs, land use, likelihood of transit usage, roadway improvements, downtown commuting, and maintaining good air quality.
