We report the observation of resonant x-ray magnetic scattering in Nd{sub 2}CuO{sub 4}. The experiments were performed by tuning the incident energy to the Nd {ital L}{sub I}, {ital L}{sub II}, and {ital L}{sub III} absorption edges. The largest count rates, up to 300 counts per second, were obtained at the {ital L}{sub II} edge. Antiferromagnetic long-range order is seen below {ital T}{sub Nd}=37 K. Polarization analysis confirms that the scattering is magnetic in origin and consistent with a dipole excitation, suggesting that the Nd 5{ital d} bands are polarized.
