The Bekasap Field is located on the Riau Province of Central Sumatra, Indonesia. It produces mainly from three major formations, Bekasap, Bangko, and Menggala. The average field production in 1993 was 18,000 BOPD at a water cut of 86%. A waterflood project is being evaluated for this field. The top two formations, Bekasap and Bangko, are being targeted for this project, since reservoir pressure has declined due to a partial support from an edge waterdrive mechanism. A reservoir model of the top two formations was done using a hybrid finite-difference/streamtube method, to forecast field oil recovery under several producing strategies. This paper presents a discussion of the hybrid streamtube results, including history matching and forecasting of field performance.
