RHIC Head-Tail Stability with Resistive Wall Wake Fields
- Brookhaven National Lab. (BNL), Upton, NY (United States)
Consider two highly relativistic particles, with charges q1 and q2, that circulate RHIC with horizontal and longitudinal displacements of (x1, z1) and (x2, z2) from the center of the same bunch. If they pass through a short device (at azimuthal location s = 0) that generates a wake field, the equation of motion of particle 2 can be written.
