Spin-orbit optical potential for nucleons as a Hartree-Fock potential

The possibility of describing the spin-orbit optical potential of nucleons on the basis of the generalized Hartree-Fock potential (GHFP) constructed using realistic vacuum NN forces is demonstrated. Analytic formulas are derived for the components of spin-orbit Hartree-Fock and spin-orbit optical potentials in the second-order approximation in the nucleon-momentum operator. Calculations based on characteristics sets of vacuum NN forces demonstrate that the Fock exchange term makes a significant contribution to the spin-orbit optical potential and that the contribution of quadratic spin-orbit forces is small. It is found that the spin-orbit optical potential constructed on the basis of the GHFP is in satisfactory agreement with the parameters of phenomenological spin-orbit potentials, but that it exhibits some features associated with explicit energy and isotropic dependences, with the presence of gradient terms, and with a more complex radial distribution. 12 refs., 1 fig.
