Glass-formation regions are defined for glasses in the SiO{sub 2}-Al{sub 2}O{sub 3}-MnO{sub 2}-Fe{sub 2}O{sub 3}-MgO-CaO-Na{sub 2}O-K{sub 2}O system. The effect of an increasing amount of Fe{sub 2}O{sub 3} on the crystallization temperature, structure, and composition of the crystalline phases is investigated. A possible pathway for the crystallization of the glasses in question is discussed.
