One of the main advantages of composites is to combine materials characteristics to meet the design requirements. Generally speaking, the matrix provides the shape and environmental resistance while the fibers withstand the mechanical stresses. Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) reinforced composites have been studied for the development of a new class of materials. The two kinds of composites studied for the development of a new class of materials. The two kinds of composites studied in this work are respectively polyurethane and epoxy reinforced with Cu-Zn-Al shape memory alloy fibers. Their damping behavior are examined and their impact properties are compared with brass fibers reinforced composites.
