Stability of composites in compression along cracks
- Inst. of Mechanics, Kiev (Ukraine)
The stability of a composite of an arbitrary laminated structure with cracks between layers is discussed. The exact statement of the problem is formulated for cases of compressible, elastic and elastic-plastic, orthotropic and isotropic layers in compression along cracks. This exact statement is based on the model of piecewise-homogeneous medium and equations of the three-dimensional linearized theory of deformable bodies stability (TLTDBS) (A.N. Guz`, 1986). Numerical results are obtained for particular cases of real composites for typical dispositions of cracks. Besides that it`s shown that approximative approaches to so fine and complex phenomenon in the material structure cannot describe it even on the qualitative level.
