Title: High-current negative ion linear accelerator for injector of neutral particles in thermonuclear plasma

Journal Article · · Transactions of the American Nuclear Society
OSTI ID:107457

Injection of fast neutral atoms of deuterium is one method to heat the plasma and control it`s particle distribution for thermonuclear installations. The ITER injection systems should provide neutral beams with an energy of 1-1.5 MeV and a total power of 80-100 MeV. A special injection system may be used consisting of multiple accelerating modules. An accelerating module is suggested based no a radio-frequency accelerator with the ribbon beam.
