Load forecast

Book ·
OSTI ID:103326
This portion of the Energy vision 2020 draft report contains a discussion of the methodology used for forecasting load growth during the period if this report, and it also contains the results of the forecasts. A historical perspective on this issue is presented, different models are discussed, key variables affecting the forecast are listed, and the results by sector (residential, commercial, and manufacturing) are given. A low/medium/high low growth scheme was used, with medium growth numbers being consistant with those used with other utilities. With these estimates, total system energy usage is expected to increase from its present value of approximately 130 BKWh to 155 BKWh in the year 2000 and then to 220 BKWh in the year 2020.
