Wavelet analysis and accelerator signals

Conference ·
OSTI ID:10193547
Wavelets have suddenly become very popular in signal analysis applications. They have become a darling topic in several fields: astronomy, image processing, filtering, theoretical physics, and harmonic analysis, to name only a few. This paper focuses on applications for wavelet analsysis in accelerator engineering, specifically, signal processing. It is split into three parts; the first contrasts wavelet analysis with Fourier analysis, the second constructs a simple wavelet basis as a tutorial, the third demonstrates the analytic uses of wavelets with the help of a software analyzing tool.
