The attached report presents the results of the independent certified public accountants` audit of the Department of Energy`s Naval Petroleum Reserves (NPR) financial statements as of September 30, 1991. In their opinion, the NPR statements are fairly presented in all material respects in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles except as described in their report. Their reports on the NPR internal control structure and on its compliance with laws and regulations, and management letter on addressing needed improvements are also provided.
