Industrial Energy Technology (IET) is published bimonthly. Each issue of IET presents an article of interest to those in the field; contains abstracts of the most current world literature pertaining to industrial energy efficiency; and announces upcoming meetings, conferences, and symposia in the field of industrial energy conservation. This publication contains the abstracts of Department of Energy (DOE) reports, journal articles, conference papers, patents, theses, and monographs added to the Energy Science and Technology Database during the past two months. Also included are US information obtained through acquisition programs or interagency agreements and international information obtained through the International Energy Agency`s Energy Technology Data Exchange or government-to-government agreements. The DOE Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT) conducts R & D activities which focus on the objectives of improving energy efficiency and providing for fuel flexibility within US industry in the area of industrial energy conservation. The Office also conducts programs to reduce waste generation, increase recycling efforts, and improve the use of wastes as process feedstocks. An active program of technology transfer and education supports these activities and encourages adoption of new technologies. To accomplish these objectives, OIT cooperates with the private sector to identify its technological needs and to share R & D efforts. R & D is conducted to the point that a new technology is shown to work and that it can be transferred to the private sector end-users.
