The objective of these trials was to evaluate the signal processing capabilities of the vehicle hardware and software under field conditions. The vehicle had already been proven capable of finding SCC in workshop conditions. The focus of these trials was reliable unambiguous detection of SSC and the ability to discriminate between SCC and non relevant indications. The long term objective is to develop an in-line detection device capable of reliably detecting SCC before colonies seriously affect the integrity of an operating pipeline.
