Measurement control: Principles and practice as applied to nondestructive assay

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:10116051
This report discusses the principles and practice of measurement control for nondestructive assay (NDA) instruments. Emphasis is placed on the methods used to measure the stability of instruments and the resulting uncertainty information that can be derived from these measurements. NDA is not always blessed with the highly controlled samples that are assumed in the analytical laboratory. This adversely affects the use and applicability of the historical error information from instrument stability checks to estimate measurement uncertainties for the broad range of samples presented to most NDA instruments.
