A mobile infrared remote sensing system has been developed. The system consists of an infrared differential absorption lidar (DIAL), an open-path Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, and three types of remote gas imaging systems (a passive imager, a 3--5 {micro}m active imager and a 9--11 {micro}m active imager). These systems are being deployed in a mobile remote sensing vehicle that was developed under this program. A field test of the system that featured the use of the 9--11 {micro}m active imager is described. Laboratory experiments to improve the sensitivity of infrared DIAL using frequency-modulation (FM) spectroscopy are described, as well.
