Conference ·
OSTI ID:10106371

We have completed solubility studies on gibbsite to 100{degrees}C in several electrolyte media and derived speciation of Al{sup 3+} in solution; defined the ionization constant for HSO{sub 4} at 250{degrees}C in brine compositions to 5 molal and completed measurements of the ion-interaction parameters for NaHSO{sub 4}(aq) to 250{degrees}C; measured volatility of HCl over aqueous HCl to 350{degrees}C and applied derived model to the conditions of the Geysers; and completed measurements of the effects of NaCl and KCl on D/H and {sup 18}O/{sup 16}O liquid-vapor partitioning are complete to 100{degrees}C and to 6 molal. Studies on the effects of MgCl{sub 2} and CaCl{sub 2} and their mixtures are underway.
